RESEARCH PROFESSOR
Ph.D. Ho-sup, Jung
Ho-Sup Jung is currently a Research Professor of Center for Food and Bioconvergence, Department of Food Science and Biotechnologyat Seoul National University (SNU) and had been a Research Associate Professor at Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at SNU from 2008 to 2016. Before joining SNU as a staff member in 2008, he was a Research Associate Scientist at the North Dakota State University at Coating and Polymeric Materials and Center for Nanoscale Science and Engineering. And he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at ISIR, Osaka University under the supervisor of Prof. Tomoji Kawai. His current research interests are in developing a high-throughput fabrication microfluidic system of self-assembled functional supramolecular structures such as vesicles and the conjugated polymeric-based multiplex sensor devices for diagnostic infection diseases. He received his Ph.D in Chemical Engineering from Osaka University in 2003

RESEARCH INTERESTINGS

MICRO/NANO FABRICATION AND APPLICATIONS
Roll type photolithography and contact based replication methods for transparent electrode, optical film, electronic device, and so on.
FABRICATION OF ARTIFICIAL CELL MEMBRANE
A simple yet robust microfluidic platform with monolithically integrated hierarchical apertures. This platform showed efficient diffusive mixing of the introduced lipids, resulting in massive, real-time production of various cargo-carrying particles via multi-hydrodynamic focusing
SMART CARRIERS
They have an advantage over micelles in their ability to mimic natural membranes and, therefore, capture membrane proteins in their biologically relevant orientation as demonstrated in structural studies of the transmembrane segment, functional studies of membrane protein and drug delivery system.
